Marina Novoa brings a deep, well-rounded musical foundation to the rhythm section of Group Therapy. She has been playing electric bass since 2021, building on a lifelong connection to music that began with piano at age five and cello at ten. With a minor in music from Tufts University, Marina combines technical skill with a strong instinct for groove, arrangement, and feel.
Her influences span genres and generations—from the cinematic intensity of Muse and the edge of Rage Against the Machine, to the dynamic sound of Linkin Park and the powerhouse vocals of Celine Dion, Sara Bareilles, and Brandi Carlile. That range shows up in her playing—locking in tight with the band while adding musical depth that elevates every song.
Offstage, Marina is all about family and fun—cheering on the Boston Fleet and spending time with her two sons, her dog, and her wife.
